3 Students of Hamilton University Given £10000

3 sporting stars of Hamilton university where funded £10000 to help them compete on an international stage.

The 3 students William Marshall, Rebekka Findlay and Hamilton McMillan Junior all recieved money for winning through the  national sports scholarship programme for student athletes.

Badminton player Rebekka Findlay used some of her winnings to pay a fee to enter the Senior Irish International tournament.

the admiring badminton player had this to say : “The money will help me get training and competitions.

“I can’t train with the Scottish National squad, because I’m at uni during the day. So I train in the evenings and now I’ll be able to pay for coaching, facilities and tournaments, where entry fees can cost hundreds of pounds on top of hotels and flights.

“The funding will come in blocks, so I’ll be able to spread it across competitions throughout the year.”
